Author Quotes

Where divinity is sought after, one ought always to behave in the spirit of Love, devoid of the slightest trace of hate, envy and anger. When one cultivates the inner look, one attains the conviction of the basic equality of all.

Where there is Love, there God is evident; God is the Life-breath of every soul.

Whoever withdraws their heart from wife, child, and parents and loves me, is my real lover.

Why does the sun rise and set every day without delay or disruption? Why do these streams and rivers roar, murmur, and gossip over rock, pebble, and sand, as they meander to the parent sea? This is the answer: Know that I am the One who has ordained that these be such and shall behave so.

Why fear when I am here? Put all your faith in Me. I shall guide you and guard you.

Willingness to compromise with others? ways of living and cooperation in common tasks, these make living happy and fruitful.

With meat the body will get the proteins, but mental proteins will not be there. If you are keen on spiritual life, eating meat is not worthwhile; but if you are keen on worldly life, it is all right. There is another spiritual reason. When you kill an animal you give him suffering, pain, harm. God is in every creature, so how can you give such pain? Sometimes when someone beats a dog he cries, he feels so much pain. How much more pain then in killing. Animals did not come for the purpose of supplying food to human beings. They came to work out their own life in the world. When a human being is dead, the foxes and other animals may eat, but we have not come to provide food for those that eat the human body; we have not come for that purpose. Similarly, man eats the animal, but the animal has not come to provide man with food.

When we sit for the meal, we feel light and effortless. When we are done, we should rise with the same feeling of lightness and effortlessness.

When you do not fill your heart with love, many evil qualities will find their way into it and destroy your very humanness.

When you feel you cannot do good, at least desist from doing evil.

When you retire for the night offer grateful homage to God for being with you all day long.

When you sing bhajans, dwell on the meaning of the song and the message of each name and form of God.

When you take one step towards God, God takes ten towards you.

When hatred sprouts, Envy raises its hood. When Love sprouts, Peace descends like dew.

When heart speaks to heart, it is love that is transmitted.

When Narayana (Supreme God) takes the form of a man and wants to help humanity, He will act like a man. Just because God comes in human form, it is no excuse for man to be indifferent. He must realise that all the Poorna Avatars are incarnations of the same Formless, Eternal, Supreme Consciousness and the Cosmic, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient God.

When the Avatar appears in human form, we find that He exhibits human consciousness along with Divine Consciousness. Ordinary people cannot grasp the Divine Consciousness of the Avatar.

When the magnet does not attract the needle, the fault lies in the dirt that covers up the needle.

When the mind is filled with good thoughts, such as truth, love, forbearance and compassion, one?s life is filled with peace and serenity.

When the road ends, and the goal is gained, the pilgrim finds that he has traveled from himself to himself.

When there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. When there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.

What you would desire others to do for you, you should do for others. You should respect others, as you want to be respected by them.

Whatever acts a good or bad man may do, the fruits thereof follow him and will never stop pursuing him.

Whatever books you may read, you cannot realize the Divine merely by intellectual effort. One must put it into practice. That sense of oneness can only be promoted by the practice of love and not by any other means.

Whatever is to our advantage will appear right to us; we do not usually look upon a matter from the other fellow's standpoint.
