Shu Ching or Shu Jing or Shujing NULL

The Shu Ching contains material on the history of China from the rule of the legendary ruler Yao (third millennium B.C.) to 624 B.C. The oldest parts apparently date to the period between the 14th and 11th centuries B.C. According to tradition, it was compiled by Confucius. In 213 B.C., the Shu Ching was burned along with the other Confucian classics, but it was reproduced in the second century B.C., partly from memory

"For changing peoples’ manners and altering their customs there is nothing better than music."

"Heaven-sent calamities you may stand up against, but you cannot survive those brought on by yourself."

"Those who seek mentoring, will rule the great expanse under heaven. Those who boast that they are greater than others will fall short. Those who are willing to learn from others, become greater. Those who are ego-involved, will be humbled and made small."

"Holding himself good, one loses his goodness."

"To know the truth is not difficult, but to follow it is."

"Only virtue can compel Heaven, and there is no distance to which it cannot reach."

"Deal firmly, yet tenderly, with evil, as if it were a disease in your own person, and the people will entirely put away their faults."
